What we offer:

Please note - ALL of our Board & Train slots typically fill at least a month in advance. We cannot hold a spot without a deposit, so if you have a specific start date in mind, contact us as soon as possible. Often, our slots will fill more than a month in advance, when a month is completely full we typically make that announcement on our Facebook page, so please check in there.

*Private Lessons- You bring your dog here and work on all the basics; sit/stay, down/stay, walking on a loose leash, coming when called, and much more!
Price: $75 per session (discounts given if 5 or more lessons purchased)

*In-Home Lessons- We come to your home (or public location of your choice)* and work on all the basics: sit/stay, down/stay, loose-leash-walking, coming when called, doorbell reactions, etc!
Price: $125 per session (discounts offered if 5 or more sessions are purchased at once)
*In-Home Lessons are only available to locations within 1 hour of our base

*Board & Train STANDARD - Your dog will come and stay with us for ONE week and learn the standard commands. Your dog will learn such commands as: Sit/Stay, Place/Stay, Walking on a loose leash, No jumping up, No biting, and more! When you come to pick up your buddy, we'll show you what they've learned and give you the chance work with your dog yourself so you will know how to keep up with the training when you take your dog home.

Price with E-Collar intro: ​$800

*Board & Train BASIC - Your dog will come and stay with us for TWO weeks and learn the basics. Your dog will learn such commands as: Sit/Stay, Down/Stay, Place/Stay, Coming when called, Walking on a loose leash, No jumping up, No biting, and more! When you come to pick up your buddy, we'll show you what they've learned and give you the chance work with your dog yourself so you will know how to keep up with the training when you take your dog home. includes 3 of our In-Home lessons, rather than just 1, to be utilized once your dog is back at home. These lessons can be redeemed at any time in your dog's life, and can be a great way to get a "refresher" without the need to send the dog back for more training at our facility.

*Foundation Dog (Puppy Board & Train) - This program is open to SELECT puppies 8 weeks to 4 months. We work on teaching the basics: Name Recognition, Place, Leash Introduction, Crate Training, Hand Touch, and more! This is a TWO WEEK program where your puppy stays with us while we work. This is an excellent way to utilize those important first couple of months when your dog learns the most, the fastest. 

Price: $2500 (includes two weeks of training, three in-home lessons*, and food & board while your dog is with us)

*The Off-Leash Club- If you're searching for training that would allow you to take your dog off-leash hiking, have reliability in an open field, or just be leash-less in everyday life, this program is for you! Your dog will come and stay with us for three weeks and we will be working exclusively on off-leash reliability. All of the commands in our regular Board & Train program are taught in this program as well, just with the added distraction of being completely off-leash. This program can be tailored to meet specific needs and just like with our other programs, you'll get a chance to work with your dog before heading home. 

Price:$2000 (includes three weeks of training, two in-home lessons*, e-collar to take home, and food & board while your dog is with us)

*The DarkWood Dog- Are you looking to get a new dog/puppy and want to have most of the training done before you bring him or her into your home? Or, maybe you've already got a dog and are looking for a longer term training solution? The DarkWood Dog program was designed with you in mind. This month-to-month based program tackles all of the basics that are covered in our regular Board & Train program, as well as the more advanced training offered in The Off-Leash Club, with the added benefits of more time and additional, practical, needs. We work on starting your dog on going to a "place" when the doorbell rings, emergency down & stays, reliable obedience in public settings, calm house manners, and much more. Because this program is longer in length, and more inclusive, it is limited to 1-2 dogs at a time. 

Price: $2500 per month* (includes food & board in addition to an e-collar to take home as well as 2 in-home lessons once training is complete**)
*Discounts offered when more than 2 months of training are purchased at once; also, ask about our multi-dog discount if you have more than 1 dog you want to have trained
**In-home lessons for clients within 1 hour from our facility, arrangements can be made for those residing outside this area

Wilderness Dog - This program is specifically designed to turn your pup into a Trail Hound! This is an OFF LEASH program, so everything covered in our DarkWood Dog program is also covered here with the additional training and focus on trail etiquette. Hiking, Biking, Swimming, and more! We want to make sure your dog is both trail safe AND a happy companion when at home. Our goal is for Fido to be chill in the house and a trusty sidekick with the stamina to keep up with you on the trail, no matter the terrain. This FOUR MONTH LONG program culminates in a weekend trip away to make sure that your pup can handle any trail he points his nose down. This program is limited to ONE dog at a time and requires substantial pre-booking. 

Price: $6500 (includes food & board in addition to an e-collar to take home as well as a Trail Training lesson* once program is complete). Dog will go home with his/her AKC Canine Good Citizenship, Canine Good Citizenship-Advanced, and the Canine Good Citizenship-Urban titles. 
*Trail Training lesson must take place on the day of graduation on a trail chosen by DarkWood Dog Training.

*Search & Rescue (SAR) Training- This program is designed for those who have an interest in learning about Search & Rescue training and would like to put their dog to the test. You and your dog will come once a week for an undetermined period (amount of time dependent on dog and handler commitment and work ethic).
At this time, only Wilderness or Non-Urban SAR teaching is available. At the end of the program your dog will be able to locate a lost human that is up to a mile away. 
*Obedience training is essential for this program to be successful; discounts given to handlers who enroll in one of our other training programs first.

Price-$100/lesson (no time limit on lessons, we work for as long as the dog is interested)

*Tracking Lessons- These are one hour classes that cover everything from starting tracking with your new puppy to advanced SAR tracking and Competition tracking.
Price: $100 per lesson (discounts given if 5 or more lessons purchased)

*Group Classes- Group lessons have a maximum of 6 dogs per class. Specific course outlines are available upon request. We do a CGC-prep class, ending with a test and we also offer more advanced courses as well. Please contact us for more information.

*Canine Good Citizen Testing- The Canine Good Citizenship program is a special award system that the AKC has created rewarding dogs that are well behaved and under control. The test involves 10 different items including: Accepting a friendly stranger, Coming when called, sit/down, etc. I am an AKC Approved Evaluator and hold tests periodically. Please let me know if you have any interest in this program!
Price:$15 dollars for test only

*Canine Actors- Here at DarkWood, we can provide you with the perfect canine cast member for your photoshoot, play, music video, or even movie! Please see our "Entertainment" section of the site for information on our current actors or call us to see if we can find the perfect dog to fit your needs. Most breeds available and can be trained to do just about anything! Contact us for our DAY RATE!
